Wall Decor In The Shop

Here is another new item in our shop!
These wall flowers work well in any room in your home or office!
They are a good way to add texture to a room.
They are sound deadening.
They are unique.

I have a set hanging in my living room, and I have gotten many many
compliments on them from visitors! :)

You can read more about them here.

Have a good week! :)

Here is a fun lil project quick I made for the little ones.
Using felt, fabric glue, and my sewing machine, I made a few of each.
Of coarse when I went to take a pic of them, most of them were nowhere
to be found! The kids play with them everyday!

This project was inspired by Dana from Made.
She made this lively collection for her kids...
Have a good day! :)

A Cute Use For Old Jeans!

We have an over abundance of old jeans around here!!

Mr. Liv is constantly doing hard work, and his jeans don't usually
last more than two or three months before they rip.
When I patch them, he gets one more wear out of them, and the patch rips!

So, I am always looking for things to do with these old jeans...
I don't really like most recycled jean projects I see, but this one I love!

Cozy Car Caddy...
Isn't it fun! We love it for waiting rooms and for church!
It folds up into this nice little bundle that slips right into your purse!
I made it using this tutorial from over at Homemade By Jill.
She shows very detailed tutorial that is easy to follow!

I love that it's a cute use for denim, and uses up some scraps!
Yay for free projects!! :)

Have a good week!!! :)

White and Raspberry

Here is a little summer dress I made.

I didn't use a pattern and I didn't take pics as I went,
so I'm jus sharing some inspiration for ya!
If anyone would like a tutorial, jus let me know,
and I'll make another one! :)
The dress reminds me of my current guilty obsession...
homemade cake batter ice cream with raspberries!
Yumm. I got hooked on this combo at Coldstone
and now I make it at home... dangerous! ;)

Have a nice Weekend!! :)

Stuffed Shells Recipe

This is a favorite favorite recipe around here.
It is my go- to recipe if I am having dinner company and don't know what to make.
It's perfect to make when you are pregnant for after baby.
I also like to make it in a disposable pan to bring to families who
are having a rough time or have a new baby!

Almost everyone who tries it loves it!

This recipe is a perfect make ahead recipe, it can be refrigerated
for a day before baking, or even frozen for 1-2 months before baking.

Ingredients:

1 lb. ground beef
1 jar of your favorite marinara (I like Prego- Three Cheese for this Recipe)

1 Box Jumbo Shells Pasta

1 16 oz Large Curd Cottage Cheese
4 Cups Shredded Mozzarella
8 oz Ricotta Cheese
1 Egg

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brown and drain the ground beef.  Add jar of sauce and simmer.
Boil pasta according to instructions on box, rinse in cold water.
In a med bowl, combine cottage cheese, 2 cups mozzarella, ricotta, and egg.
Stuff the pasta shells with cheese mixture and place in 9"x13" pan (I use my hands).
Top with meat sauce, and then remaining shredded mozzarella.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.

Enjoy! :)
This dinner is goes perfect with homemade Fougasse Bread!

Science With the Kids

Here is a fun and easy lil project to try with your kids...

This was a super fun project! I'll be honest, I didn't even measure any
of the ingredients, I just guessed, and it worked fine!
I also used 3% peroxide and it worked. :)

I got the idea from preschoolpowolpackets. She explains in further detail
in her tutorial about the reaction that is taking place.

Have fun! :)

Kids Live Here...

Here's to keeping it real.

We have a houseful of little ones...

One of the hardest challenges of motherhood so far for me has been
letting things go. The house is usually pretty messy. It drives me crazy.
Its not always dirty, but its usually messy. Cluttered. Heaped.
The chairs are never pushed in.
There are always water spills here and there.
The blankets and pillows are everywhere but the beds.
 The bookshelves are empty.
The children's bedroom usually looks like a garage sale,
and our room often looks like a "daycare."
But everyone is healthy, happy, and loved...
I have to remind myself often that that happiness is much more
 important than a spotless house.
After all, the house can wait to be perfect, but the little ones can't wait to be loved!

Do you have to remind yourself too?

Coffee Bag Bin

Here is one lil project I've been working on lately...
I made a bin from a coffee bag!
I love how it turned out!

I ordered this book from Amazon, and just followed the instructions!

It was super simple! I have another one cut out already,
I just need to find the time to sew it all together!

I love to re-purpose old things (its nearly free!), so this book is perfect for me!
I want to make so many of the projects in it!

(I wasn't paid to advertise for the book, I just really like it! )

Where'd I Go!?

Summer is such a busy time!

We've been having cookouts, with lots of summertime food and friends!
We've been making strawberry lemonade, and picking fruit at gramma's.
We've been doing yard work, swimming, boating, and riding bikes.
I have to say one of my favorite summer pastimes is swinging!
We've been watching parades and fireworks.
One of the fireworks shows we watched was next to a small town carnival.
My camera kept veering off towards the carnival...
Much more fun photo- ops than the fireworks!! :)
Mr. Liv is busily building a new pool!
A friend recently teased us that even our pool is handmade,
like everything else around here! Hey, I won't complain! :)

So, there hasn't been much time for creating things or for blogging!

Hope you are enjoying your summer! :)
